Awards keep coming for former Phils winner

will core 2Former Phils award winner William Core (18) is continuing to gain recognition in the automotive and design industries, four year after his talent was recognised by the Midland Group of Motoring Writers.

William, the 2012 Phils winner, has now received an unqualified offer to attend Coventry University’s vehicle design course, his first choice of degree courses. Coventry's alumni include Ian Callum, director of design for Jaguar Cars.

William, who took his A-levels this summer, was also one of 24 finalists from around the UK in the annual Triumph Design Awards which were set up "to encourage creative thinking, innovative problem solving and the ability to produce feasible solutions to real world problems”.

On July 2 at Triumph's Hinckley headquarters, his project - a table capable of producing and storing solar power - won the award for 'outstanding corporate responsibility,' for its use of sustainable and fully recyclable materials.
