Chairman thanks Swift Gallery for hosting AGM

Ten members of the MGMW made the trip to Stoke-on-Trent to attend the 2016 AGM and enjoy the fantastic motor racing photographic collection at The Swift Gallery. During the meeting members heard reports from the committee which summarised the previous year’s events and discussed a number of ‘hot’ topics.

MGMW chairman, Ian Donaldson, thanked gallery owners, John and Andrew Swift, for allowing us use of the venue which he described as “exceptional” and “well worth the journey”. He also thanked members for attending.

The main topic for discussion centred around the future of the MGMW Industry Day which Mark Slack suggested had “run its course” in view of the changing demographic of the invited PR departments. Members and the wider industry will be canvassed on their views.

Members welcomed the introduction of the Ford test rota and news that a BMW rota would be starting shortly, giving members access to cars that had not been available previously. There was praise for the Christmas lunch and also a suggestion that a dinner evening could be added to the AGM.

There being no new nominations, the current Committee were individually re-elected for 2016/17. Proof copies of the Handbook were available for checking.
