Ford stalwart honoured at MGMW lunch

Ford stalwart, Bob Wright, and his wife Bev were guests of honour at the annual Midland Group Christmas lunch, held in the lovely setting of the Rooftop Restaurant at the RSC in Stratford upon Avon.

Bob has recently announced his retirement from Ford after serving 37 years and 10 months with the company in the press office team and, for many years, as the man in charge of the Ford press fleet.

In a short speech, Ian Donaldson, MGMW chairman, paid tribute to Bob’s unfailing good humour and described him as a “true friend” to the Group. He presented Bob with a small gift to help him on his travels while Bev received a bunch of flowers.

The Christmas lunch was enjoyed by over 30 Group members and their partners, despite one or two late cancellations due to illness. Convivial chat continued well past 3pm and the event is now established as a favourite on the MGMW calendar; combining, as it does, an enjoyable social occasion with a chance to get in some Christmas shopping.
