The Midland Group of Motoring Writers has confirmed Chris Russon as its new chairman, following the Group’s Annual General Meeting at Nailcote Hall in July.
Andrew Noakes, who has led the Group since 2022, stepped down from the role to focus on other professional and personal commitments. Members paid tribute and send thanks for his contribution before welcoming Russon, previously the Group’s Vice-Chairman, into the chair.
Russon is chief motoring editor for Driving Force and brings decades of experience across the motor trade press to the role.
New Faces On The Committee
The AGM also saw two new appointments to the MGMW committee. Syd Taylor and Edward Stephens both join to help steer the Group forward, adding further experience from across the region’s motoring media.
Members said they were looking forward to the fresh energy and new direction the changes will bring, with the Group’s committee now well placed to build on more than three decades of history.
The Midland Group of Motoring Writers continues to connect automotive journalists across the region with the motor industry, and its latest AGM marks the start of an exciting new chapter.
